Assignment #5 was a particularly fun assignment in my opinion. It was fun coming up with the trivia questions and getting to play around with the game set up. It was also really interesting learning how these PowerPoint games are made. I’ve used them in so many of my classes but had no idea how they were made. The one thing I didn’t like about the assignment was how tedious it was. Adding all of the links was extremely repetitive and took a while. But otherwise, I really enjoyed the assignment.

I think data collection will be a huge part of my career as a teacher. There are so many different ways of collecting data and ways to use the information you get. As a teacher you’ll have to record student test scores, their reading comprehension, math skills, etc. You’ll have to keep track of all of this data to look for student growth or any concerns. As a teacher you can also use surveys to get information from your students and their parents to get feedback on your class. I want to be an elementary teacher, and this is a crucial time to spot any learning disabilities or concerns. Collecting data on how many words per minute your students can read, or how many addition problems they can solve can be really useful to spot any concerning trends in your students' data.

Within the next year, I want to become proficient in excel. I want to learn how to do basic things such as creating new columns, filtering and sorting the data, and create basic but informative tables. Being able to use excel is a really beneficial skill to have, especially wanting to become an elementary teacher(as discussed above). To learn how to use excel there are a couple things I can do. There are plenty of online tutorials and classes I could use. My mom is another resource I could utilize. She has to use excel daily for her job, so she could show me some basic skills.
